Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance (PI/QA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Performance and Quality Assurance professional is responsible for oversight of the Agency’s quality assurance and performance improvement.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan Development and Evaluation including ensuring:
a. State and Federal regulation compliance
b. Policy and Strategic Planning compliance;
c. COA accreditation standard compliance
d. Customer and Client Quality Initiatives are developed and met
2. Oversees Regulatory Compliance including:
a. Coordinating to ensure all aspects of the standards are managed and outcomes are met
b. Working with Management for oversight of program and medical record compliance
c. Ensure Credentialing and licensing is up to date for Provider programs
d. Working to support achieving targeted outcomes
3. Oversees Key Quality Management Systems including:
a. QI Activities
b. Prevention Program
c. Quality of Care (including credentialing, adverse incidents, peer review linkages)
d. Treatment Record Review
e. Oversees electronic medical updates
f. QA Data and Outcome systems
g. Satisfaction Surveys
h. Annual Analysis
i. Ensures all programs follow Client Rights and Grievance Procedures.
4. Prepares or assists in Preparing Key Reports including:
a. Dashboards
b. Summaries
c. Data review in Results Based Accountability (RBA) format
d. Maintains RBA scorecard
5. Work collaboratively with executive management to develop quality monitors/ performance standards and design quality improvement initiatives. Provide consultation, support and direction to staff on PI/QA
6. Performs such other duties as may be requested by the Executive Director.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or comparable field required. Master's degree preferred.
Applicable management and quality improvement or risk management experience would be considered.
Relevant Work Experience: At least 3 years QI experience including knowledge of quality improvement procedures in behavioral health programs; knowledge of COA accreditation standards preferred.
Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas and directions verbally are essential. Must have a valid driver’s license, the availability of a safe and roadworthy vehicle and provide the Agency with proof of suitable automobile insurance. Must pass a state police background check, a CT DCF protective service background check, a motor vehicle check, and provide proof of physical and negative PPD results. If the applicant has resided in another state in the last 5 years background checks must be conducted and passed in those states as well.
