At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Therapist to join our team in Clinton, NC. As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward.

What You’ll Do

As a Therapist on our Outpatient team (OPT), you will contribute significantly to the well-being of the individuals under your care in a clinic setting. Your skills and experience will be vital in the screening, assessment and goal development / achievement process. Additionally, our clinicians recommend and coordinate supporting services for individuals when needed. The teams at Easterseals PORT Health care directly for our clients in one-on-one or group sessions in our outpatient clinics and opioid treatment programs. 

Essential Job Functions:

•  Must deliver services in various environments, such as homes, schools, detention centers and
jails (state funds only), homeless shelters, street locations, etc.
• Responsible for coordinating the initial assessment and developing the youth’s Person Centered
Plan (PCP)
• Diffuse crises, evaluate nature of crises, and intervene to reduce the likelihood of a recurrence
• Ensure linkage to needed community services and resources
• Arrange, coordinate, and monitor other services on behalf of the individual
• Monitor and manage the presenting psychiatric and/or addiction symptoms
• Provide self help and living skills training for youth;
• Provide mental health treatment for the youth or other family members as directed by the Team
Leader
• Provide parenting skills training to help the family build skills for coping with the youth’s
disorder
• Work with caregivers in the implementation of home-based behavioral supports
• Provide or arrange crisis management, intensive case management, individual and/or family
therapy, substance abuse intervention, skills training, and other rehabilitative supports to
prevent the need for an out-of-home, more restrictive services
• Provide, when assigned, “first responder” crisis response on a 24/7/365 basis to recipients
• Coordinate and conduct peer review
• Assist in training new employees
• Complete the intensive in-home services training within the first 90 days of employment
• Other duties as assigned

You’ll earn a competitive annual salary ($42,000-$55,000) for provisional licensure and starting at 55,000 for full licensure) based on your experience plus enjoy a 40-hour a week, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm work schedule with some evening flexibility for program and client needs. What We’re Looking For

To join our team as a licensed clinician you must have in-depth knowledge of different therapeutic approaches and group techniques as well as their practical application in an outpatient setting, be able to work independently, be adept at problem solving and de-escalation in times of crisis. We also require:

  • Full or provisional licensure: LCSW, LCMHC
    • Dual licensure LCAS (A) preferred 
  • Prior mental health and/or substance use experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibility:

Qualified Professionals (QPs) may be required to provide supervision to staff member of Associate
Professionals (APs) and Paraprofessionals (PP) status.

Non-Essential Job Functions:
Assist with marketing of the Intensive In-Home program

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field with two years post degree experience with
population served (at risk youth); or
• Master’s degree in Human Service field with one year post degree experience with population
served (at risk youth).

Equipment Used:
Personal Computer – 20%
Motor Vehicle – 80%

Essential physical requirements:
Position requires driving on a regular basis, ability to read, write legibly and speak audibly. Must be
able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Environment:Position will split work time between a climate controlled offices and traveling in the community to
client homes, schools, meetings.
