About the Opportunity

Innovative Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Mental Health Therapist to join our Frederick team. We are looking for someone who values meaningful relationships with patients, works collaboratively with colleagues, and is committed to continually developing their clinical skills.

In this role, you will assess and treat mental health concerns, help patients strengthen coping and communication skills, and support lasting improvements in emotional well-being. You will collaborate with psychiatric providers and other team members to deliver individualized, coordinated care.

A willingness to learn Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or other evidence-based treatment modalities is essential. Prior training is valuable, but curiosity, openness to feedback, and a commitment to professional growth are equally important.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive hourly compensation and performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • 401(k) retirement plan and medical and dental benefits.
  • Paid time off to support rest and work-life balance.
  • Flexible scheduling through a coordinated hybrid work arrangement.
  • Reimbursement for approved training and opportunities to develop specialized clinical skills.
  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing practice.
Benefits and training reimbursement are subject to eligibility requirements and applicable plan or program terms.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload that supports seeing 24–30 patients per week, providing consistent, high-quality care through in-person and telehealth appointments.
  •  Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, develop diagnostic impressions within your scope of practice, and create individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
  •  Provide individual therapy and, as appropriate to your training and assigned caseload, couples, family, child, adolescent, and group therapy.
  •  Use evidence-based interventions to help patients improve coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, relationships, and daily functioning.
  •  Assess safety concerns, provide crisis intervention within your role, develop safety plans, and coordinate additional services or higher levels of care when indicated.
  •  Maintain accurate, timely assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment collaboratively.
Additional Hybrid Responsibilities

This position extends beyond scheduled therapy appointments. Therapists are expected to contribute to continuity of care, team collaboration, and the ongoing development of ITC’s therapy services.

  • Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, referring professionals, families, and community supports when appropriate and with required authorization.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, required supervision, and training, including professional development in PRT, EMDR, or other approved modalities.
  • Support patient engagement through clinically appropriate check-ins, follow-up outreach, and collaboration with administrative staff to address attendance barriers and continuity of care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and program development, including documentation reviews, patient education materials, therapeutic groups, and other duties reasonably related to the position.
In-person and remote workdays will be coordinated with leadership based on patient needs and clinic operations. This is not a fully remote position. During remote work, therapists must maintain a private workspace, reliable internet access, and availability during scheduled working hours, using ITC-approved systems.

Required Qualifications

  •  A master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related clinical field from an accredited institution.
  •  Current, unrestricted Maryland licensure as an LGPC, LMSW, LCSW-C, LCPC, or LCMFT. Marriage and family therapists must hold the appropriate Maryland credential.
  •  Willingness to participate in supervision appropriate to your license and responsibilities. LGPC and LMSW applicants are welcome, with required supervision arrangements established before providing applicable clinical services.
  •  Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, including the ability to maintain timely documentation and work effectively in a hybrid setting.
  •  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification
  •  Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, culturally responsive care, applicable licensing standards, and ITC policies.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous outpatient mental health experience; experience working with children, adolescents, couples, or families; familiarity with electronic health records and telehealth; and training in trauma-focused care, chronic pain treatment, PRT, EMDR, or other evidence-based modalities are preferred.
