Mental Health Professional- Teen Wellness Center

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Mental Health Professional will provide direct therapeutic services to youth and families, including individual and group mental health services, and crisis intervention. This position will also work closely with the program team to develop treatment plans, provide mental health assessments, and offer support and guidance to participants. The Mental Health Professional will collaborate with the Recovery Support Specialists, Family Support Specialists and other professionals on the team to collaborate on projects, participate in outreach events, and provide services for youth in the center.  The Mental Health Professional will also work and receive clinical supervision from licensed clinician to ensure holistic care.

Salary: $45,0000-$48,000

Shift: varied, 2-3 evening nights per week required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Facilitates individual therapy sessions and/or family therapy sessions.
• Develop and facilitate groups designed to support and educate youth.
• Administers and interprets assessment instruments.
• Develops treatment plan for youth/ families engaged in treatment.
• Participates in regular multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Creates appropriate referrals for youth and families psychological and psychosocial needs and follows-up to identify if services were accessed.
• Participates in clinical supervision.
• Completes intakes, verifies insurance, and manages billing.
• Monitor programmatic goals and outcomes continually adapting to meet or exceed them.
• Responsible for the timely submission of Medicaid mental health billing and ensures that all documentation is accurate and upholds Trinity Services' mission, values, and operational needs.
• Participate in outreach efforts, fairs and other events to promote the Teen Wellness Center and its services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability and knowledge of basic computer programs for service documentation and report writing

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Operate motor vehicles
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
• Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health experience, preferably with youth and families.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and adolescent mental health.
• Crisis intervention training and experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of Illinois
• Attend initial and ongoing required training (provided on site)
