• Provide rehabilitative mental health services consistent with each client's individualized treatment plan.
• Teach, model, and assist clients with mental health symptom management and coping skills.
• Provide client education related to mental health, wellness, recovery, medications, and community living.
• Facilitate individual and group rehabilitative services and therapeutic programming.
• Support clients in developing independent living, interpersonal, communication, and community integration skills.
• Observe and respond appropriately to changes in clients' mental health symptoms, behaviors, functioning, or safety.
• Assist with crisis prevention, de-escalation, and implementation of individualized crisis and safety plans.
• Participate in treatment planning, functional assessments, level-of-care assessments, and other clinical documentation within the MHP scope of practice.
• Complete timely, accurate, and professional documentation of services and client progress.
• Communicate significant changes, incidents, safety concerns, or clinical concerns to appropriate team members.
• Collaborate with Mental Health Professionals, nursing staff, case managers, psychiatry, and other members of the treatment team.
• Support clients in maintaining a safe, respectful, structured, and recovery-focused residential environment.
• Perform other duties consistent with the Mental Health Practitioner role and IRTS program requirements.

• At least 2,000 hours of qualifying experience providing services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disability;
  
  
• Completion of a qualifying practicum or internship involving direct interaction with clients and focused on behavioral sciences or a related field; or
  
  
• Current participation in a qualifying practicum or internship as part of a formal undergraduate or graduate program in social work, psychology, or counseling.

• At least 4,000 hours of qualifying experience providing services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disability; or
  
  
• At least 2,000 hours of qualifying experience with required weekly treatment supervision until the 4,000-hour requirement is met.

• A master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or a related field.

• Must be able to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study.
  
  
• Must be able to complete all required DHS and IRTS training.
  
  
• Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and organizational skills.
  
  
• Must be dependable and able to work the posted schedule.
  
  
• Experience working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness is strongly preferred.
