Mental Health Counselor Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling required
• Credentialed through NYS (LMHC) preferred, Limited Permits (MHC-LP) will be considered and encouraged to apply.
• One (1) years' experience working in behavioral health setting required.
- Experience working with individuals with Co-Occurring or multiple diagnosis (Mental Illness and Alcohol/Substance Abuse) preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group treatment for patients to facilitate their recovery and return to the community.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality therapeutic programming to support the program participants and their needs
- Provide group and individual therapeutic services to individuals with co-occurring disorders specializing in trauma-informed/patient-centered counseling
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, and demonstrate a compassionate, professional and mature manner
- Plans and implements a structured experience to enhance patient self-awareness and self-expression
- Provide psychoeducation-oriented activities in a group setting based on the individual action plans using evidence-based curriculums as available
- Responsible for coordination of individuals care through the recovery process, assisting them with the process of assessing the major life roles they desire to work toward
- Provide individual counseling including crisis counseling as reflected in the MITP and/or requested by the individual
- Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team and clinical team
- Able to willingly contribute talents and skills to achieve individual and departmental goals and objectives
- Meet all departmental requirements for chart recording, statistics, and other professional documentation and submit documents
- Assesses effectiveness of sessions and makes appropriate changes, as needed
- Participates as a team member in providing continuing patients’ assessment and treatment
- Attends treatment team meetings and supervisory conferences
- Complete all hospital and departmental annual requirements.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Complete required continuing education courses to maintain license.

We are seeking a Mental Health Counselor to provide therapeutic counseling, promote optimum mental health and help individuals deal with various mental and emotional health concerns.
Salary: $28 per hour
