Job DetailsJob Location: CORE Marigold - Citrus Heights, CA 95610Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Graduate DegreeSalary Range: $35.00 - $42.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesSummary: The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for delivering mental health, substance abuse, and support services consistent with the principles of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Strengths-Based Models to an adult population who struggle with mental illness. The Mental Health Clinician provides Behavioral Health recovery based services which may include, but are not limited to: assessments, service plan development, case management, housing support, skills training, group facilitation, crisis intervention, and individual and/or group therapy and documenting all services. Services will be provided in office and in the field. The Mental Health Clinician supports Service Coordinators and Peer staff on clinical and documentation questions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conduct Assessments: Carry a caseload and perform comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of clients, considering factors such as medical history, psychosocial background, and presenting symptoms.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Utilize diagnostic criteria to identify provisional mental health disorders accurately. Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address clients' specific needs.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide counseling and therapy services to individuals and/or groups, using various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychotherapy, and other evidence-based techniques.
Crisis Intervention: Manage and respond to crisis situations effectively, employing crisis intervention techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of clients experiencing acute emotional distress.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly review and assess clients' progress towards treatment goals, adjusting social rehabilitation/therapy techniques and treatment plans as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
Documentation: Per El Hogar and Sacramento County regulatory policies & procedures, maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and other relevant records in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements (e.g., progress notes, adverse incident reports, discharge summaries, Medi-Cal billing, EHR forms, HMIS).

Responsible for producing the required number of regulatory units of service per month (70% of staff's time must be provided face-to-face or other eligible community-based support with/for clients).


Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including med providers, service coordinators, peers, care coordinators, clinicians, and other members to develop comprehensive treatment plans and provide coordinated care for clients. Coordinates, or assist in, special research or projects when needed or assigned, including creating, preparing and distributing special reports.
Education and Support: Educate clients and their support persons about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and community resources to enhance their overall well-being and empower them to actively participate in their treatment process.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of mental health to ensure the application of evidence-based practices and continuous professional growth. Participates in the internal and county utilization review process. Maintain credential with BBS and county requirement to be licensed/licensed waived.
Ethics and Confidentiality: Adhere to strict ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality in accordance with legal and professional guidelines. Ensure the protection and confidentiality of all Protected Health Information (PHI) by following all Agency policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum qualifications can be met in the following ways:

Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health related field with a clear and current California license or intern registration number with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Individual must be able to be credentialed as a “Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts” (i.e. LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) or “Licensed Waived” (i.e. AMFT, AWSW, APCC) as defined by Sacramento County (Required)
Knowledge of the theories, principles and techniques of family, group and individual therapy, as well as the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive service plans.
Experience & Knowledge of principles and techniques surrounding diagnostic assessment and interviewing, and the social, psychological, and physical aspects of mental disorders.
Work experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably individuals who are dually diagnosed mental health & substance abuse (Preferred).
Experience working with adults (Preferred).
Experience with Medi-Cal requirements (Preferred).
Knowledge of 12-Step Programs and/or personal experience with substance abuse recovery is (Preferred).
