Position Summary
The Master’s Level Therapist provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services to clients within WisHope programs. This position is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, care coordination, discharge planning, and clinical documentation.
The therapist works collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide individualized, evidence-informed care while supporting clients throughout their recovery process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for newly admitted clients and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy services based on client needs and program requirements.
- Provide substance use disorder and mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, interventions, and other appropriate clinical services.
- Develop individualized service and treatment plans and conduct ongoing reviews throughout the duration of treatment.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment goals and interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Coordinate and collaborate with clinical, medical, psychiatric, peer support, and administrative staff to promote continuity and quality of care.
- Collaborate with outside providers and community resources when appropriate.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, and care coordination activities.
- Develop and coordinate clear and appropriate discharge and aftercare plans.
- Conduct intake assessments and support clients throughout the admission and treatment process.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in accordance with organizational expectations and applicable state and federal requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, families, referral sources, outside providers, and members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical support within the therapist's scope of practice.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards of clinical practice.
- Participate in supervision, consultation, continuing education, and professional development activities.
- Participate in annual cultural competency, diversity, safety, and other required organizational trainings.
- Represent WisHope professionally at trainings, meetings, community events, and other professional activities when appropriate.
- Complete additional responsibilities as needed to support high-quality services for clients.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or another related behavioral health field required.
- Previous experience providing behavioral health, mental health, and/or substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality while working with clients and families.
License / Certification
Candidates must hold a current SAC, CSAC, LPC, LCSW and or LMFT.
