This position is responsible for implementing assessment and intervention techniques, consulting with staff members, professionals and families as appropriate to assist in fostering a safe school environment and addressing mental health and social issues that interfere with students’ academic success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide clinical services for students and families.

2. Participate in clinical meetings/rounds to plan and evaluate treatment / interventions and complete session notes.

3. Schedule regular meetings with families for program consistency (bi-monthly / monthly / quarterly) reports on monthly progress that meet billing, DHS, CDE and other licensing entity requirements.

4. Assist Teachers and Teaching Assistants with strength-based interventions (PBIS). Consult with school staff regarding the implementation of research-based interventions for students experiencing mental health and/or behavioral related concerns/issues as appropriate.

5. Participate in crisis intervention (threat/suicide assessments, safety plans, crisis intervention teams, building safety concerns etc) and as necessary, provide resources to students and parents.

6. Assessment of diagnosis recommendations to also include strategies to increase effective environmental, staff, professional, family and client interventions.

7. Complete initial assessment to diagnosis and recommend youth to Day Treatment services.

8. Operate as a part of a multiple disciplinary team responsible for all aspects of a student and family involvement in the program including classroom participation, activities, daily group therapy, internal and external meeting facilitation and participation, court testimony, field trips, etc.

9. Review staff notes for Medicaid billing.

10. Compliance with all licensure associated regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in counseling or related field and two years of supervised clinical experience. Ability to obtain a Special Services License in School Social Work from Colorado Department of Education is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • State of Colorado LPC, LMFT, or LCSW (required)
  • Credentialing for Medicaid billing with RMHP/UHC
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate within 90 days of hire (training provided by Hilltop)
  • Certificate from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 days of hire (training provided by Hilltop)
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
