Key Responsibilities

The Utah Department of Corrections Reentry and Rehabilitation Division that works with substance use and mental health is looking for a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCT) to provide treatment to people on probation and parole at the Price Treatment Resource Center, 1365 S. Carbon Avenue, Price, UT 84501


Job Description:

Join our team to help improve lives and create a safer Utah. As a licensed clinical therapist with the department of corrections you will provide group and individual therapy to individuals under the supervision of the Department of Corrections in our substance use treatment program. Treatment is evidence based and shown to be effective with a criminal justice population. You also practice through a trauma informed and gender responsive lens. Typical duties include assessments, documentation of client interactions, and treatment and discharge planning.

This is a full time position with state employee benefits.

● Individuals with 0-4 years of licensure as a mental health professional, the hourly rate will be $34.75

● Individuals with 5-9 years of licensure as a mental health professional, the hourly rate will be $38.23

● Individuals with 10+ years of licensure as a mental health professional, the hourly rate will be $39.96

● Individuals with a provisional license as a mental health professional, the hourly rate will be $32.28.

Candidates for this Position Must Have:

● A Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health field i.e. social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy.

● A license to practice in Utah in one of the fields listed above.

● The ability to balance group and individual sessions while keeping up on Documentation.


Qualifications

Examples of Duties

● Facilitate cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma groups

● Provide individual counseling sessions

● Conduct clinical assessments, including the ASAM assessment, and recommend the appropriate level of care

● Create relevant and individualized treatment and discharge/transition plans

● Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, law enforcement agents, and others

● Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of the treatment episode

● If fully licensed you may be asked to supervise student interns

Preferred Qualifications:

● Be trauma informed

● Familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Social Learning Theory.

● Able to work well individually and on a team

● Have working knowledge of the ASAM

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Skilled in deescalation techniques

● Able to speak Spanish

 

Supplemental Information:

● Position may be underfilled as a Caseworker III upon the qualifications of the applicant. The Caseworker III shall be Licensed as Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Certified Social Worker.

*Note: If this position is filled as a Caseworker III, the selected candidate shall obtain a full license within thirty (30) months from date of hire.

● This position is NOT public safety certified and does not require peace officer status or certification.

● Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

● Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
