Position Summary:

Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to clients and significant others exhibiting symptoms of mental illness related to grief, loss, trauma, and/or at-risk behaviors. Collaborate with school administration and staff to support referrals and follow up on ECC school-based clients. In addition, provide intake assessment, case management, referral, and intervention services as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a Human Services Field required.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills required.
  • LPC, LMFT, LISW-CP or LPC-A, LMSW, LMFT-A and under supervision required (a certification in school counseling does not meet this qualification)
  • At least one-year of counseling experience is preferred
  • Prior work experience with Medicaid clients preferred
  • Must be able to pass standard background checking, including drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry, and Sex Offenders Registry.
  • Has a belief system and engages win faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church.
  • Must have an understanding of children, adolescents, adults and family treatment as well as the ability to deliver evidence-based practice with fidelity.

Primary Performance Objectives:

  • Establish and maintain a sustainable caseload of school based and office-based clients as assigned
  • Must conduct a minimum of ten (25) sessions per week
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all client records and information
  • Able to maintain client retention
  • Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the
  • duration of treatment
  • Coordinate service delivery for school based ECC clients

Job Task Summary:

  • Complete initial intake / diagnostic assessments with corresponding diagnostics impressions that demonstrate medical necessity of services
  • Complete appropriate assessments across service duration
  • Conduct counseling sessions that align with treatment goals
  • Follow up with clients after no shows, cancellations, or rescheduled appointments
  • Track and communicate referral updates between school administration and the ECC.
  • Support special education classes through observation, education, and input on behavior management interventions.
  • Attend school meetings as directed to support clients' educational needs
  • Maintain treatment files and other records in accordance with agency policies
