Position Summary:

As part of the IMPACT Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program, the Intoxicated Driver Program (IDP) Assessor provides in-person and telephonic contact with clients, assesses their needs and provides recommendations for an appropriate referral to community resources. The IDP Assessor is also responsible for documentation and some case management services to ensure high-quality customer service and enhance the client's opportunity for success.Β 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person and telephonic IDP assessments.
  • Ensure client data is logged accurately and in a timely manner in the system
  • Complete 6 hours of continuing education in topics recommended in DHS 62.
  • Provide recommendations and referrals to the appropriate community resources.
  • Complete paperwork with-in required time frame
  • Provide case management services as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation records.
  • Attend all Assessment and Referral department meetings.
  • Attend agency meetings and complete trainings, as assigned.
  • Ensures that IMPACT is compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws ensuring client confidentiality.
  • Maintain continuing education hours for the Wisconsin Department of Regulation.
  • Actively participate in and support the organization's initiatives.

Abilities/Skills:

  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid knowledge of chemical dependency issues and recovery basics.
  • Ability to learn and navigate electronic databases for the purpose of tracking client data

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Psychology. Eligibility for DHS exemption may substitute
  2. SAC License preferred
  3. Spanish Bilingual preferred
  4. At least one year of experience in SUD field required
  5. IDPAT-IT required within 1-2 months of hire
  6. IDP-AT required within 12 months of hire
  7. Computer software expertise: Word, Excel; Ability to learn new software systems
  8. Must meet eligibility requirements for DOT system access
  9. Reside in the State of Wisconsin
