Description

Position: Independent Contractor- Behavioral Support Specialist

Flexible Scheduling: This independent contractor opportunity offers the flexibility to work hours that fit your availability while providing meaningful support to individuals in the community.

Compensation: $40 per hour for a complete Service

Additional Opportunity for Compensation: Consistent and complete billing submissions will be eligible for a quarterly $250.00 stipend during the first contract year.

 

About the program:

The Together in the Community Program provides community-based support services for adults with autism and developmental disabilities, helping build independence, daily living skills, and meaningful community involvement. We partner with local school districts to support transition-aged students through life-skills development and real-world community experiences that prepare them for greater independence and future employment opportunities.

 

Job Summary:

Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments; Collaborate with participants, team members, and Community Support Professionals to maintain Positive Behavior Support Plans; Provide ongoing assessment, program design, and monitoring of treatment interventions/data collection as well as direct therapy.

 

  • Provide and submit required documentation of service provision for legal/reimbursement purposes.
  • Input/produce documentation in Devereux’s electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with Devereux’s procedures and as more fully outlined below in Exhibit B.
  • Attend review meetings with Devereux representatives as mandated by federal, state and local laws as well as Devereux.
  • Participate in and submit documentation of training as directed by Devereux and/or mandated by federal, state and/or local laws.
  • Upon request, provide a current and valid driver’s license, current and valid vehicle registration and current and valid automobile insurance policy for the vehicle that will be utilized for rendering services under this Agreement. It is the responsibility of the contractor to secure and maintain current and valid vehicle inspection, registration, insurance and a driver’s license in order to transport consumers for activities pursuant to this Agreement.  It is also the responsibility of the contractor to immediately cease transporting clients and to immediately notify the Director of the Program if the Contractor falls out of compliance with any of the requirements above. 
  • Contractor will not be reimbursed the cost of mileage.

Qualifications

Position Requirements for Behavior Support Professional:

 

  • PA Behavior Specialist License (BSL) or master’s degree in the following or related field: social work, psychology, education.
  • Experience conducting and implementing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)/Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Six (6) months of experience supporting individuals with Autism.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle

 

If required and part of your assigned cases, a copy of the contractor’s current driver’s license, current vehicle registration and current automobile insurance policy must be submitted with this contract.  It is the responsibility of the contractor to maintain a current vehicle inspection, automobile registration, automobile insurance and driver’s license in order to transport consumers for program-related activities.  It is also the responsibility of the contractor to cease transporting clients and to immediately notify the Director of the Program if he or she falls out of compliance with any of the above requirements.  Independent contractors will not be reimbursed the cost of mileage.
