Hesed House is a faith-based organization and a national model for ending homelessness. Open 24/7, 365 days a year, we serve more than 1,000 people annually through shelter, supportive housing, and a Comprehensive Resource Center.
Our mission: “To feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and give people the chance to have hope again.”
The Role
Our staff make the mission possible, and you'll make their experience better. What you'll do:
· Manage full-cycle recruiting for frontline, program, and administrative roles, partnering with hiring managers from posting through offer
· Coordinate background checks, DCFS clearances, reference checks, and employment eligibility verification
· Lead new hire orientation and create a consistent onboarding experience across programs and shifts
· Help plan and run employee recognition and engagement programs
· Support day-to-day administration of payroll inputs, benefits enrollment, and leave, and help employees navigate their benefits
· Track required training, certifications, and licensures, and follow up to keep staff current
· Answer employee and applicant questions, escalating sensitive matters to HR leadership
· Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in ADP Workforce Now and prepare routine HR reports
· Other duties as assigned
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
· Are organized, detail-oriented, and good at juggling priorities and deadlines
· Communicate clearly and warmly with people at every level
· Use sound judgment and handle confidential information with integrity
· Want your work to support a meaningful mission
