Job Summary: The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for supporting and motivating approximately 5-8 Housing Solutions Case Managers and maintains a small caseload. This position is responsible for ongoing needs assessments, personal housing stability and service plans, implementation, support, information, referrals, and advocacy for individuals enrolled in the Housing Solutions program. This position requires successful working relationships with residents that support their ability to increase their self-reliance. The Housing Solutions Supervisor will influence and recognize positive behavior changes and will identify problems and obstacles that threaten to undermine residents’ housing stability. This position will ensure that the team is practicing trauma-informed and client-focused strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client/Service Delivery


Maintain a caseload of 5-7 clients, and meet with clients based on their needs and in compliance with grant requirements
Utilize harm reduction interventions and methodologies to provide client-centered services that keep them in housing
Utilize skills regarding crisis prevention and intervention
Assist residents to build their strengths and recognize their needs in a respectful manner
Visit and inspect resident apartments to ensure that they are properly maintained
Be knowledgeable of community resources and refer clients as needed
Facilitate relationship building between landlords/caretakers and clients
Keep accurate, up to date case files including documentation on all clients, including but not limited to stabilization plans, case notes, etc.
Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner that ensures payment to the agency from various sources
Assist with any and all data collection systems


Team Management


Supervise approximately 5-7 Housing Solutions Case Managers, facilitating optimal performance
Demonstrate leadership and team building qualities in order to implement the mission, and ensure quality services and core values of the agency
Train and direct new Case Managers and assist them with day-to-day questions relating to the completion of their job assignments
Oversee quality control of case files on a quarterly basis to ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation on all clients, including but not limited to stabilization plans, case notes, etc.
Provide support and guidance to Case Manager direct reports when necessary
Coordinate trainings and orientations when needed
Meet with identified staff individually at least monthly
Meet with entire team as a whole monthly
Conduct 90-day probation, midyear and annual reviews
Approve Absence from Work requests and approve staff’s Paycom submissions, ensuring that submissions are submitted correctly and on time
Approve monthly mileage reimbursement requests


Miscellaneous


Assist Program Manager in overseeing social and recreational activities designed to promote community involvement and peer support
Assist Program Manager with volunteers and community resources to assure that residents are linked with services such as employment, education, tutoring and/or mentoring
Attend staff meetings and community meeting as assigned
Attend trainings that increase knowledge of effectively meeting clients’ needs (including co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and cultural competence)
Willingness to gain knowledge and understanding of Adult Rehabilitative, Mental Health Services and Substance Abuse Treatments, etc.
Other duties as assigned

QualificationsRequirements: 

Education and Experience


Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work (or related field) with experience working in recovery, mental health, or co-occurring disorders is preferred
Candidates with less than a BA/BS degree but with at least 2 years of direct life experience working with long-term homeless, low income, and diverse populations and have a working knowledge of mental health and addictions issues are welcome to apply
Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals who present for services with urgent multiple case management and health needs
Management experience is of significant value


General


A valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required. Must be comfortable utilizing your own vehicle to conduct home visits, visit clients at shelters, meet clients out in the community, etc. 
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population; plan, organize and prioritize duties; perform crisis intervention as needed; clearly communicate information and instructions verbally and in written form; maintain a positive, professional and safe environment while on duty; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Dependability, responsibility, and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and computer literacy are required
