Bereaved family members often need support in their grief. Our Bereavement Coordinator steps in to assess needs, counsel, and facilitate support for the family.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Collaborate with other departments within the hospital, to align interdepartmental functioning, goals, and expectations as outlined in the SLA.

  • Conduct comprehensive bereavement assessments, to identify bereavement strengths and needs of patient and family.

  • Conduct follow-up with grieving families to ensure their support needs are met and to gain insight into their satisfaction of care.

  • Conduct preparatory meetings with the patient and family, and maintain availability during the bereavement period as needed.

  • Periodically plan and organize memorial services for Hospice families.

  • Provide support and counseling consistent with patient and family beliefs.

  • Review and develop protocols for treatment and propose current options for interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree- Social Services or Divinity- Required

  • 2 years- Social Services Experience- Required OR

  • 2 Years- Chaplaincy Experience- Required OR

  • 2 Years- Counseling Experience- Required

TRAVEL IS REQUIRED:

Up to 75%
