Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Manhattan, located in New York, NY  is a primary eating disorder day treatment program exclusively for adults seeking treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or Exercise Addiction. Through partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming, clients participate in group and individual therapy, benefit from Monte Nido’s clinical, medical, psychiatric and nutritional expertise and experience real life challenges.

 

The role is responsible for providing high-quality patient care within a therapeutic milieu, supporting individuals with eating disorders through structured programming, safety monitoring, therapeutic meal support, and group facilitation. This position collaborates closely with the clinical, medical, and nursing teams to ensure patient safety, emotional support, and adherence to program standards while upholding the mission and values of Monte Nido.

 

We are seeking a Full Time Group Facilitator to join our Monte Nido team.

 

Pay: $21-$28/hr 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

Responsibilities Include:

Group Therapy & Milieu-Based Work​

  • Plan, structure, and facilitate clinical groups (e.g., CBT/DBT skills, coping strategies, relapse prevention)​
  • Adapt group content to the client's level of functioning and treatment goals​
  • Maintain group safety, boundaries, and engagement​
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to integrate group work into the overall care plans​

    • Meal & Snack Support​

  • Participates in and monitors daily meals and snacks, facilitating the pre-meal and post-meal process​
  • Provide calm, supportive encouragement/redirection around food​
  • Follow established meal support protocols (under the direction of the clinical/dietary team)​

    • Daily Client Care Support​

  • Provide direct client care within the program setting (e.g., check-ins, support around skills use, brief interventions, meal support)​
  • Participate in milieu support
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or another related field is strongly preferred

    • Prior experience treating those with eating disorders in a residential or inpatient setting is very helpful.

    • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
