Our job at Signal Theory is to help people and brands connect in more meaningful ways through strategically sound creative solutions. To do this, you’ll work with an integrated team of strategists, art directors, copywriters, experience designers, content producers, account leaders, analysts and developers to shape the bigger brand picture for the clients you work with.

A Group Creative Director,Content at Signal Theory is responsible for ensuring exceptional and effective creative work within the social and digital content space. This includes setting the creative vision for how brands show up across social platforms, digital ecosystems and owned channels—and rallying teams of creatives and other disciplines to execute with speed, cultural intelligence and craft. This role reports to the executive creative director and works alongside senior creatives and other creative leadership across client groups. The group creative director, Content works alongside the focus area’s senior account leadership, and together they are responsible for managing the group from both a business and creative standpoint.

This is not a channel management role. Social is treated as a foundational creative discipline that informs broader brand thinking, campaign systems and digital experiences. The right candidate brings a genuine instinct for culture, an understanding of platform behavior and the creative judgment to connect the two in work that earns attention.

Group Creative Directors at Signal Theory should be accomplished in the areas of collaboration, communication, management, technical knowledge and—most importantly—inspiring creative thinking.

The Group Creative Director, Content will:

  • Define and champion the creative vision and standards for social-first thinking across brands and platforms.

  • Lead the development of ideas that are native to culture, grounded in audience behavior and designed to drive participation—not just impressions.

  • Oversee the ideation and execution of always-on social programs, tentpole cultural moments and real-time content opportunities.

  • Ensure social work evolves beyond individual posts into connected systems that live across channels and touchpoints.

  • Guide creative strategy that connects brand positioning, audience insight, platform dynamics and storytelling.

  • Balance speed and flexibility with thoughtful creative judgment and a high bar for craft.

  • Help shape how social ideas scale into broader campaigns, creator collaborations and cross-channel initiatives.

  • Be expected to identify and initiate cross-team connections and opportunities within client focus areas.

  • Work alongside senior account and project management to resource accounts appropriately and within budget.

  • Connect with and effectively share ideas, concerns and solutions with company and client leaders.

  • Build and grow positive client relationships and participate as part of planner teams.

  • Work alongside strategy to produce inspiring briefs grounded in behavioral science.

  • Lead and approve the selection of work to prepare for client presentations.

  • Remain aware of new developments across the industry, platform landscape and cultural conversation.

  • Share expertise and POV both inside and outside Signal Theory.

  • Participate in judging creative work through industry opportunities and events.

  • Work in tandem with creative leadership to ensure the right creatives are in the right places to manage client work and optimize individual creative talents.

Desired Experience:

  • A deep and genuine understanding of how people actually behave on social platforms—not just how brands wish they did.

  • Experience leading creative ideation and execution across social-first programs, from always-on content to big cultural moments.

  • The ability and willingness to contribute to creative work from concept to execution.

  • Proven experience as a successful, connected manager who motivates people and teams to deliver their best rather than just the most.

  • A track record of translating complex brand and business challenges into clear, culturally relevant creative direction.

  • Comfort operating at the speed of culture without sacrificing creative quality or strategic rigor.
