This Role Matters:

This role leads impact. At Wolverine Human Services, we help children and families move toward safety, stability, and permanency. As a Foster Care Supervisor, you guide and support Case Managers in delivering high-quality services that directly affect outcomes for children in care.

This role is both leadership-focused and hands-on. You will coach staff, support decision-making, and ensure compliance while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.


This role includes:


Supervising and supporting Foster Care Case Managers
Ensuring compliance with licensing, contractual, and agency standards
Providing guidance on case planning, assessments, and service delivery
Supporting permanency planning efforts across assigned cases
Coaching staff through complex cases and ethical decision-making
Reviewing documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Participating in quality assurance and corrective action planning
Supporting staff training, onboarding, and professional development
Collaborating with DHHS, courts, and community partners
Responding to urgent or after-hours needs as required


What Success Looks Like:


Supporting staff to meet or exceed performance and compliance standards
Ensuring accurate, timely, and complete documentation
Maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality
Acting as a mandated reporter under Michigan law
Providing regular feedback and completing performance evaluations
Promoting a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment
Participating in required training and quality assurance activities
Being available to respond to urgent needs on a 24-hour basis, as required

Foster Care Case Manager

Total Performance-Based Sign-On Bonus: $5,000


$500 at 90 days
$1,000 at 180 days
$1,500 at 1 year
$2,000 at 2 years


Pre-Certified Foster Care Case Manager

Total Performance-Based Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

This enhanced bonus reflects the credentialing, experience, and immediate impact pre-certified professionals bring to the program.


$2,500 at 90 days
$3,500 at 180 days
$4,000 at 1 year
$5,000 at 2 years


Foster Care Supervisor

Total Performance-Based Sign-On Bonus: $5,000


$500 at 90 days
$1,000 at 180 days
$1,500 at 1 year
$2,000 at 2 years


Bonus Eligibility Requirements

Sign-on bonus payments are contingent upon meeting established performance expectations, including maintaining compliance with state-mandated foster care metrics, caseload standards, agency policies, documentation requirements, and overall job performance.

QualificationsWhat You Need to Apply – Minimum Qualifications:

You qualify if you have:


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Behavioral Sciences field preferred
Must meet Michigan licensing and contractual experience requirements for a supervisory role
Prior experience in foster care or child welfare required
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Valid Michigan Driver’s License (if required for the role)
