JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.
• At least two years’ experience in foster care case management preferred.
• Experience working in GA Shines and GA Score preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have a caring and positive attitude and be passionate about helping children and families in the foster care system.
• Computer efficiency with strong analytical skills and in- depth knowledge of child welfare best practices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry a caseload of 12–15 children placed in Bloom foster homes.
• Collaborate with foster families to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's emotional, physical, and behavioral needs.
• Advocate fiercely for children—working with schools, courts, doctors, and case managers to make sure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
• Conduct regular home visits and compliance checks to ensure safety and support.
• Be part of an on-call rotation to provide after-hours assistance and crisis response.
• Coordinate child placements, supervise documentation and reporting, and participate in team meetings and case planning.
• Support, guide, and equip foster parents through training and resource development.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

This is a full-time hybrid work arrangement with required in-person hours for direct service activities. Some evening availability is required for events and client needs. Some travel throughout the south metro Atlanta area, including Fulton, Fayette, Spalding, and surrounding counties.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND CHECKS

Depending on the requirements of the position, the screening process may include:

• Provide a minimum of three professional or employment references
• A criminal background check
• A sex offender registry check
• A motor vehicle record (MVR) check

Employees hired for Foster Care positions will also be asked to provide documentation verifying their highest level of education completed, such as a diploma, degree, or official transcript, and a 10-year employment history.
