How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Promote effective operations through hiring, training, and orientation of new hires;
  • Conduct team supervision meetings with all direct reports and interns on a regular basis;
  • Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers;
  • Manage employee vacation scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for program service needs;
  • Build and sustain a cohesive team while cultivating a positive employee morale;
  • Supervise staff in alignment with job requirements, program and agency expectations, state licensing and COA requirements;
  • Assess each child and family’s status with the Case Manager to ensure quality assessments;
  • Effectively distribute case assignments in a fair and equitable manner;
  • Actively participate in program committees that address service delivery systems and implement the appropriate program;
  • Develop, update, and maintain the program operation manuals;
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and theories while recommending changes in agency policies and practices when appropriate;
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budget, goals and objectives for the program;
  • Ensure that outcomes measures of contracts are met timely and efficiently;

  • Work collaboratively with other program staff to ensure effective coordination of services between foster care, licensing, and adoption units;
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance positive work relationships with referral sources, community agencies, courts, and other applicable entities;
  • Actively participate in community forums relevant to primary job responsibilities;
  • Provide comprehensive case management from intake through foster care adoptive placement and supervision of legal confirmation, if requested based on caseload compliance;
  • Provide support and assist with MARE matches and assign the appropriate caseworker for case assignment;
  • Effectively and efficiently track all report submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy;
  • Attend training as needed and apply newly gained knowledge to provided service;
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends, theories, state licensing regulations, legislation and practices through the review of professional journals and literature, participation in relevant educational forums;
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a related human services field and four (4) years of experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or in an agency performing a child welfare function OR;
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a related human services field and three (3) years of experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or in an agency performing a child welfare function;
  • At least one (1) year of experience of managing others;
  • Active Child Welfare Certification in the state of the work location;
  • Demonstrated ability with providing excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Obtain and maintain the appropriate professional licensure and registration, if applicable;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must exhibit an ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving;
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
