Position Summary:

Unison Health is seeking a Director of Wood County Services to provide strategic leadership and oversight for all clinical service lines within our Wood County locations, including Crisis Services and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). This leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, and managing program operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies. The Director oversees program performance to achieve quality, operational, and financial goals, leads the development and implementation of new service lines, and serves as a representative of Unison Health on internal and external committees. This position works collaboratively with community partners—including the local ADAMHS Board, hospitals, courts, and law enforcement agencies—as well as internal departments to strengthen partnerships, improve service delivery, and advance the agency's mission.

Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:   

  • Advise management and staff on clinical and operational matters related to Wood County services.
  • Oversee programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
  • Manage program operations and budgets to achieve quality, operational, and fiscal goals.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate new service lines to meet community needs.
  • Represent Unison Health on internal and external committees as assigned.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, including the local ADAMHS Board, hospitals, courts, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Partner with internal departments and leadership to improve service delivery and achieve organizational goals.

Education & Experience Requirements: 

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling, or a Doctorate in Psychology required.
  • Current Ohio licensure as an LPCC-S, LISW-S, or Psychologist required.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum of three years of management experience with oversight of multiple departments.
  • Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission and OhioMHAS standards required.
  • Required CPR certification within 90 days of hire. 
  •  Required CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
  •  Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  •  Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness including the SED population, crisis management, and the ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
  •  Must demonstrate the ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and make recommendations.   
  •  Must demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to provide superior service, and enthusiastic support for the mission of the agency. 
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to represent the agency in a positive manner when in the community. 
  •  Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile individuals.
