STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (SSSD)

 

The TRiO Programs Director will be responsible for the comprehensive administration of both projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, the achievement of the objectives established in the approved proposal, and the delivery of excellent services to participating students.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates with an academic degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work must hold a current professional license corresponding to their discipline.
  • Proven experience in the administration of TRiO Programs, preferably Student Support Services (SSS) or Student Support Services for Students with Disabilities (SSSD).
  • Deep knowledge of federal regulations applicable to TRiO Programs and the management of federal grants.
  • Experience in preparing federal reports (APR), documentation for monitoring visits, and compliance processes.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including database management, pivot tables, analytical functions, and report generation.
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation for outcome evaluation and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other regulations related to students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the confidential handling of student information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to lead work teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work under strict compliance deadlines.
  • High sense of organization, professional ethics, leadership, and student service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and supervise the administrative and programmatic operations of the TRiO SSS and SSSD Programs.
  • Guarantee compliance with all federal regulations, institutional policies, and requirements of the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Responsibly administer the budget and resources allocated to both projects.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate the personnel assigned to the programs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate strategies aimed at increasing the retention, persistence, academic progress, and graduation of participants.
  • Analyze performance indicators and prepare statistical and narrative reports for federal and institutional agencies.
  • Use data to support decision-making and the continuous improvement of services.
  • Collaborate with various academic and administrative units to strengthen the services offered to students.
  • Ensure the ethical and confidential handling of student information in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Ensure that services offered to students with disabilities comply with current legislation regarding accessibility and reasonable accommodations.
