Position Summary 

The Director of Intake and Placement will oversee all intake and placement processes within Texas Family Care Network.  Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services to clients by managing the intake process, assessing client needs, and coordinating appropriate placements. This position will supervise Intake and Placement Supervisors providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and excellent client care. This position requires strong leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise, manage and ensure collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities 

  1. Support/Service Delivery
    1. Foster positive relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and community partners to facilitate effective collaboration and resource sharing. 
    2. Collaborate with other departments, managers, case managers, and external agencies to identify suitable placement options for clients based on their assessed needs. 
    3. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify appropriate services, resources, and programs for clients. 
    4. Ensure that assessments are thorough, objective, and conducted with sensitivity and cultural competency.
    5. Monitor the progress of placements, addressing any issues that may arise and ensuring appropriate support is provided to clients. 
    6. Coordinate the placement process, including coordinating transfer logistics. 
  2. Quality Improvement
    1. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of intake and placement processes, making recommendations for improvement as necessary. 
  3. Communication
    1. Collaborate with other departments to establish and maintain effective referral systems and communication channels. 
  4. Supervision
    1. Receive supervision.
      1. Receive supervision from and actively communicate with supervisor on an ongoing basis throughout the week by phone, email, written message and when possible, in person regarding program matters.
    2. Provides supervision.
      1. Supervise staff directly or their supervisors depending upon the personnel actions including action plans, hiring, terminations, recruitment, vacation and sick day requests. Ensures that program staffing is qualified and provides continued safety of children served with high rates of success/program completion.
  5. Leadership
    1. Oversee the intake team and placement team, providing training, guidance, and supervision to ensure accurate and timely completion of intake assessments and all placement activities. 
    2. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management. 
    3. Lead the assessment process to determine the specific needs, preferences, and goals of clients. 
    4. Participate in meetings, committees, and working groups to contribute to organizational planning, policy development, and program improvement efforts. 
  6. Documentation
    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client intake, assessments, and placements using designated systems and databases. 
    2. Generate reports on intake and placement statistics, trends, and outcomes to inform program evaluation and decision-making. 
  7. Risk Management and Safety
    1. Develop and implement standardized intake procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, SSCC contract timelines, legal requirements, and industry best practices. 

            Qualifications 

            1. Education/Credentials/Licensure:  
              1. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.   
              2. Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
              3. Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
            2. Experience: 
              1. Two (2) years of supervisory experience. 
              2. Three (3) years of experience in intake, assessment, and placement within a social services or similar environment. 
              3. Strong knowledge of social services programs, resources, and best practices. 
              4. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing client care and confidentiality. 
            3. Clearances: 
              1. DPS 
              2. DFPS 
              3. FBI 
              4. CBCU Eligibility Determination 
              5. Child abuse clearances 

                Working Conditions 

                1. Physical Demands:  
                  1. This position requires operating a keypad device 75% of the day and electronic/office equipment 25% of the day. Frequent travel throughout the assigned counties may be required daily along with travel by plane and may include travel in weather conditions – 50%. Fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows, legs and feet are all routinely used throughout the day. The lower and upper torso is used 75% of the day. Employee must meet minimum requirements for hearing, speech, and vision. Walking is required 75% of the day. Standing occurs 75% of the day. Sitting happens 25% of the day. Reaching above the shoulder as well as bending and twisting are performed 25% of the day. This function routinely lifts under 25 pounds. The maximum lift is 50 pounds, 1 time per day.
