The Day Programs team plays a critical role in creating experiences that promote independence, inclusion, personal growth, and community participation while supporting the unique needs and aspirations of each Villager.


Position Purpose

The Director of Day Programs provides leadership and oversight for Annandale Village’s Day services, including the Program Center, Community Access Program, Vocational Services, Transportation, and assessment-based skill development initiatives.

This role is responsible for ensuring programs are person-centered, outcome-focused, operationally effective, and aligned with Annandale Village's mission and strategic priorities. The Director partners with leaders across campus to promote meaningful opportunities that support independence, skill development, community engagement, and quality of life for Villagers.

The Director of Day Programs provides leadership and support to program managers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role also provides leadership for Annandale Village's assessment and skill-development efforts, ensuring programming is informed by meaningful outcome measures and supports increased independence, community participation, and quality of life for Villagers.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Leading Program Strategy and Operations

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Annandale Village’s Day services, including the Program Center, Community Access Program, Vocational Services, and Transportation.
  • Ensure programs and services support meaningful engagement, independence, skill development, and person-centered outcomes.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities to enhance services, operational efficiency, and Villager experiences.
  • Support the development and implementation of new programs, services, and initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of Villagers.

Assessment and Skill Development Leadership

  • Provide oversight of Annandale Village's Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS) program and related skill-development initiatives.
  • Promote the consistent use of assessment data to identify strengths, support needs, and opportunities for growth and increased independence.
  • Partner with program leaders and interdisciplinary teams to ensure programming, goal development, and support strategies align with assessed needs and person-centered outcomes.
  • Support the evaluation of skill acquisition, functional progress, and program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement and meaningful Villager outcomes.

Leading and Developing Program Leaders

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to program managers and coordinators.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and service excellence.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement across day services.
  • Partner with organizational leadership and Human Resources on staffing, performance, and employee development initiatives.

Supporting Quality Services and Compliance

  • Promote compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and person-centered practices.
  • Support quality assurance, performance improvement, accreditation, and program evaluation efforts.
  • Monitor program outcomes and service effectiveness to ensure high-quality experiences for Villagers.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of services across campus.

Vocational and Community Engagement Leadership

  • Promote opportunities that support employment, vocational skill development, community inclusion, and meaningful participation.
  • Foster relationships with community organizations, employers, educational partners, and other stakeholders that enhance opportunities for Villagers.
  • Support innovative approaches that expand community engagement and individualized opportunities for growth and independence.

Transportation Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Annandale Village's transportation services, ensuring operations support Villager needs and organizational priorities.
  • Supervise and support transportation leadership while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with campus leaders to ensure transportation services effectively support programming, community engagement, and the overall Villager experience.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Foster strong collaboration among program, residential, clinical, social services, and transportation teams.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Villagers, families, guardians, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Support communication and coordination that promotes a seamless and person-centered Villager experience.

Resource and Operational Management

  • Support budgeting, resource planning, and responsible stewardship of departmental resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness while maintaining high-quality services.
  • Support strategic planning and organizational initiatives related to day services and community engagement.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support organizational initiatives and special projects.
  • Perform other duties in the best interest of Annandale Village and the Villagers we serve.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Services, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in developmental disabilities, human services, healthcare, education, vocational services, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning, community-based services, vocational programming, assessment-based skill development, and services for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience with AFLS or similar functional assessment and skill-development models preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Employment Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Georgia Class C Driver's License, proof of insurance, and acceptable MVR.
  • Must pass GBI and FBI background checks, including fingerprinting.
  • Must pass drug screening and tuberculosis screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist individuals throughout the day.
  • Ability to participate in community activities, program events, and campus initiatives as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to assist Villagers in and out of vehicles as needed.
  • Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and emergency response duties as required.
