The Position

As Director of Behavioral Health Services, you’ll provide senior, onsite leadership for Northland Health Centers’ behavioral health program—setting direction, ensuring strong clinical standards, and supporting growth that expands access in rural and underserved communities. You’ll guide integrated, patient-centered care aligned with NHC’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities include strategic planning and service development; clinical oversight and promotion of evidence-based practice; operational management and regulatory compliance; quality improvement and outcomes monitoring; staff leadership, supervision, and workforce development; and close collaboration with medical, dental, behavioral health, and care management leaders to strengthen whole-person care.

Required qualifications:
- Current North Dakota licensure as an LPCC or LCSW
- Clinical supervision credential preferred or ability to obtain
- 5+ years of progressively responsible behavioral health experience
- 3+ years of supervisory/leadership experience

A Day in the Life

In this role, you'll provide leadership across multiple programs and service lines. A typical day may include meeting with site and program leaders to assess patient access, staffing needs, and operational challenges. You'll analyze key performance indicators, oversee quality improvement efforts, and ensure initiatives align with organizational goals. Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, you'll strengthen collaboration, streamline processes, and enhance the patient experience. You'll also invest in staff development through coaching, mentorship, and change management support. Strategic planning for program growth, sustainability, and long-term organizational success will be a key part of your work.

Total Rewards

This full-time position provides a salary range of $85,000–$105,000 DOE, along with Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; 401(k); Life Insurance; Health Savings Account (HSA); Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays; Continuing Education support; License Renewal assistance; Student Loan Repayment Programs; and more
