SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations, strategic planning, and administrative functions of behavioral health services. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, participant-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals. The administrator acts as a liaison between clinical staff, participants, and external stakeholders, fostering a supportive and efficient environment for both providers and clients


EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency, social work, psychology, or a related field. Requires knowledge of an advanced type
  • Other: Master’s Degree with 6 years of supervisory and administrative experience in Social Work including working with families experiencing child abuse, neglect and mental health issues and in good standing Hawaii State Licensure

EXPERIENCE

  • Over six years 
  • Six years post master's supervisory and clinical administrative experience in community or social service agencies

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Ability and organization to manage multiple contracts, large number of employees, and/or complex budgets. Knowledge of area of program concentration

 

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport clients, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport clients, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes
