Director Citywide Home Visiting

Job Summary

 

The Director of Citywide Home Visiting leads and oversees a large-scale pregnancy and parenting home visiting program, ensuring high-quality service delivery, evidence-based practices, strong community partnerships, and alignment with the organization's mission. This role manages staff performance, outreach and recruitment, budgeting and reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen outcomes for pregnant and parenting families across the city.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of home visitors' performance and client satisfaction, which requires a flexible schedule, including weekends. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure home visitors are equipped to effectively implement evidence-based curriculum during home visits. Align city-wide program retention, recruitment outcomes and deliverables with budget requirements. Exercise sound judgment and consult with and organization legal team in situations that may pose risks to the organization. Proactively address conflicts with clients and staff to uphold organizational integrity.
  • Ensure all outreach efforts align with organizational goals and uphold the mission to support pregnant and parenting families. Stay current and share knowledge of research, trends, and developments in home visiting and incorporating evidence-based practices into program activities.Fosters meaningful outreach with internal and external stakeholders in partnership with key program partners and leadership. Develop and facilitate participant group activities in collaboration with doulas and home visitors, to support community-building, learning, and engagement.
  • Lead recruitment of participants for the City-wide Pregnancy and Parenting program. This includes but is not limited to organizing activities and events and collaborating with community stakeholders and hospitals focusing on maternal and child health. Independently and consistently exercise sound judgement, identifies priorities, implements strategies and timelines, and works in collaboration with and in adherence with External Communications team and practices. Partners with the Director of Pregnancy and Parenting and Finance, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure fiscal integrity and oversee program budget planning, monitoring, and expense management for this team. Allocates financial resources efficiently to maximize program effectiveness and sustainability for this team. Maintain accurate and timely monthly reporting of program statistical data for strategic planning and informed decision-making for this team.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Pregnancy and Parenting, Advancement and other stakeholders to prepare and submit proposals and reports as required for this programming. Ensure team maintains up-to-date and accurate client files and database entries by organizational and regulatory professional standards and requirements. Drive strategic outreach initiatives to engage underserved populations, develop partnerships, and enhance program participation.
  • Lead and develop the team by setting clear goals and expectations, monitoring performance, and providing regular feedback and guidance. Inspire team excellence by modeling accountability, collaboration, and solution-oriented thinking, and ensure team members are supported, empowered, and high-performing while fostering a positive, purpose-driven culture.
  • Develop staff capability through ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and improvement to strengthen team engagement, retention, and impact.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, public administration, social services, or related field of study

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Master's Degree in education, public administration, social services, or related field of study

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience working within faith-based or values-driven organizations

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and community leaders 

  • Experience managing budgets and regulatory requirements 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience recruiting employees into social services

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) a plus

  • CPR/First Aid Certificate

  • LCSW / LCPC

     

Physical Requirements 

  • Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day
  • Climb up and down up to 4 flights of stairs at a time
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant Education:
Preferred: MSW
Minimum: Master's in Early Childhood Education

Relevant Experience:
Preferred: 5 years in Program Management
Minimum: 2 years in Program Management

Certification/Licensure:
Preferred: LCSW/LCPC
Minimum: N/A
