What You'll Do:

 
  • Contributes to the development of a coherent instructional program and applies instructional expertise to improve the effectiveness of core curriculum and instruction, including the implementation of current Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) and Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Native HOPE, or similar evidence-based Native American wellness and suicide prevention curriculum.
  • Assesses the needs of core content areas, content area teachers and school leaders and leads the development of resources to address those needs and increase the quality of instruction and student support.
  • Develops research-based recommendations for instructional strategies, professional development and assessments to increase the quality of teaching and learning in student wellness and evidence-based intervention programs.
  • Implements District instructional foci and assists with the development and facilitation of the department’s core professional learning offerings related to content, instructional best practices, and language and cultural development
  • Assists network and school teams in the identification of programs, instructional activities and current effective teaching practices to ensure continuous improvement; works collaboratively to develop core content professional learning which meets the needs of all stakeholders
  • Supports the development of coaching plans, which include focused goals and measures of success; provides coaching to targeted audience in order to improve instruction, classroom organization and management and effective implementation of key District strategies and resources
  • Deeply analyzes student wellness and  achievement data (student work samples, interim assessments and performance-based assessments) to determine how to better develop materials and provide targeted, high quality teacher training 
     

 
What You’ll Need:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Mental Health, or closely related field required.
  • Master's Degree in Education or related subject area preferred.
  • Three to five years of providing intervention/support or teaching in related subject area.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred, or CDE teaching certificate in relevant subject area (elementary or secondary).
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
