POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credentialing and Privileging Coordinator performs a variety of functions necessary to credential and privilege an array of provider types in accordance with applicable regulatory agency guidelines and best practices. This position will report to the Credentialing and Privileging Manager.


Essential Functions:

1. Liaisons with credentialing software vendor to ensure that vendor is providing services as per the contract

2. Works with medical affairs and social work leadership to ensure the proper credentialing of providers.

3. Utilizes technology to initiate credentialing applications for medical affairs and social worker providers

4. Timely evaluates submitted applications for completion, review case logs to ascertain competency and performs critical verifications in order to prepare applicant files for a final review by the credentialing committee.

5. Works with medical affairs and social work leadership to obtain clarification, and communicates with applicants, credentialing contacts and other related professionals throughout the process through both verbal and written communication methods. 

6. Coordinates with medical affairs to maintain and update Credentialing Policies and Procedures Manuals.

7. Coordinates with medical affairs to ensure physician hospital appointments, if applicable.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or satisfactory equivalent of experience and education required.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience.
