  • Community Events: SpectroDolce Ice cream/food trailer at local community events

Greensburg:

  • Monday–Saturday: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM

  • Sunday: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM

Irwin:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:30 PM

  • Saturday: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Sunday: Closed

Candidates must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Schedules may vary based on business needs, community events, and staff availability.

Position Overview

We’re looking for organized, highly motivated, and compassionate individuals with an interest or experience in candy making, baking, bakery operations, food production, retail sales, and supporting neurodiverse individuals to join our team.

As a Confectionery Assistant Job Coach, you will support individuals in developing job skills, increasing independence, and working toward their career goals while actively participating in SpectroDolce’s confectionery and retail operations.

This position is unique in that staff will work across multiple settings. Team members will assist with making confectionery products in our Irwin kitchen, working in our storefront at Westmoreland Mall, and supporting our ice cream/food trailer at community events.

Key Responsibilities

Confectionery & Retail Operations

  • Assist in making handcrafted candy, ice cream, and other sweet confections.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety in the kitchen.

  • Work in the SpectroDolce storefront at Westmoreland Mall, providing excellent customer service and assisting with daily sales.

  • Handle cash and credit card transactions while ensuring accuracy in POS entries and change provided.

  • Assist with inventory, stocking, cleaning, and other daily operational needs.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced production and retail environment.

Community Events & Food Trailer

  • Work at community events and other external events representing SpectroDolce.

  • Assist with operating our ice cream/food trailer, including food preparation, customer service, sales, setup, and cleanup.

  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule based on community event needs.

  • Ability and willingness to drive and/or haul the food trailer is not required but is a plus. Candidates who are qualified and willing to transport the trailer may be considered for a higher pay rate based on their experience and responsibilities.

Job Coaching & Individual Support

  • Support neurodiverse individuals in developing job skills and achieving career goals.

  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model in a work-based setting.

  • Help create an inclusive, encouraging, and fun environment for all staff.

  • Provide input on the development and implementation of individualized job coaching and employment plans.

  • Communicate with employees to understand their goals, interests, and aspirations.

  • Guide employees in learning and completing job tasks efficiently and independently.

  • Support individuals in developing social, workplace, and life skills.

  • Advise on workplace accommodations that promote inclusion and success.

  • Monitor and evaluate employee progress while maintaining accurate records and reports.

Community Relations & Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with leadership, Job Coaches, and other team members to support employee development.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support social media efforts and community relations.

  • Attend external events to promote SpectroDolce products and our workplace training program.

  • Represent SpectroDolce professionally within the community.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership and/or the supervisor.

  • The ability to work comfortably in small, shared spaces and a production environment.

  • The ability to inspire, encourage, and motivate others.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A willingness to work evenings, weekends, and community events as needed.

  • A willingness to work across our Irwin kitchen, Westmoreland Mall storefront, and community event locations.

  • A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to transport the food trailer is a plus, but not required.

  • The ability to demonstrate alignment with and actively embody our mission, vision, values, and beliefs through actions, decisions, and communication.
