What You’ll Do

As the Compliance Manager, you will lead compliance monitoring activities across RHD fee-for-service programs while helping ensure services meet payer, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.

You’ll conduct audits, analyze trends, identify risk areas, support corrective action planning, and collaborate with leadership to strengthen documentation practices and improve compliance performance.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

Compliance Auditing & Monitoring

  • Conduct documentation compliance audits using approved monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Review clinical and service documentation supporting billed services.
  • Evaluate documentation for compliance with payer, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Complete monthly documentation reviews and quality monitoring activities.
  • Review progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, service authorizations, daily schedules, and other required service documentation.
  • Verify documentation supports billed services and demonstrates medical necessity.
  • Assess documentation for completeness, timeliness, signatures, and required service elements.

Risk Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze audit results to identify trends, recurring deficiencies, systemic concerns, and potential financial or regulatory risks.
  • Prepare audit reports, compliance summaries, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Communicate findings and identified risks to program leadership and quality teams.
  • Monitor compliance performance and identify areas requiring additional oversight.
  • Support leadership in understanding compliance-related risks and opportunities.

Corrective Action & Quality Improvement

  • Assist programs with developing corrective action plans.
  • Monitor corrective action implementation and progress.
  • Validate completion and effectiveness of corrective measures.
  • Escalate unresolved, recurring, or ineffective corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct follow-up reviews to measure sustained compliance improvements.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through data analysis and compliance monitoring.

Education, Coaching & Program Support

  • Provide compliance education and guidance to supervisors, managers, and staff.
  • Assist with training and onboarding related to documentation standards and audit processes.
  • Offer technical assistance regarding compliance expectations and best practices.
  • Partner with Program Leadership, Regional Directors, and Quality Assurance teams to support program success.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and documentation excellence.

Regulatory Compliance & External Review Support

  • Assist with preparation for external audits, licensing reviews, payer reviews, and accreditation surveys.
  • Help review findings and develop responses to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance monitoring records and audit documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, organizational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in organizational committees, workgroups, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in healthcare, behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disability services, compliance, or quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting documentation reviews, audits, quality assurance activities, or compliance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Medicaid billing standards and managed care requirements.
  • Experience with electronic health records, audit tools, and documentation management systems.
  • Experience supporting compliance monitoring, quality assurance, or regulatory oversight activities.
  • Familiarity with accreditation, payer, and governmental compliance standards.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-Time
  • $65,000 Annual Salary
  • Travel up to 25% required
  • Schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and multiple work locations.

  • Ability to sit at a desk or meeting table for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, climb stairs, and drive a vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more when necessary.
  • Ability to travel between office and program locations.
