General Summary: The Clinical Training Manager oversees the Clinical Training Department and works collaboratively with medical and behavioral health leadership, member services, site operations (outpatient, foster care, residential, housing, etc.), compliance, billing, IT/IS teams, and training functions to strengthen system alignment and reduce unnecessary process variability. This role supports Clinical Training by improving clinical and operational readiness, improving staff retention, empowering staff through training and tools, and coordinating cross-functional efforts that improve access, continuity, and care delivery outcomes.

The Clinical Training Manager reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Clinical Integration and supports, as directed, the implementation, optimization, and standardization of integrated clinical workflows across integrated service lines. This position focuses on translating clinical and operational problems, as identified by leadership, into structured, repeatable processes (e.g., training content, documented workflows, tracking systems, and platform tools) that support consistent and high-quality practices across sites and programs.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Integration & System Coordination
• Partners with the EVP of Clinical Integration, Senior Director of Integrated Health Operations, clinical leaders, and operational stakeholders to support alignment between medical, behavioral health, and psychiatric service delivery functions.
• Collaborates with programs and support the development of solutions to clinical & operational breakdowns affecting member care and translates them into standardized workflows, tools, and processes that can be implemented across relevant target groups.
• Participates in cross-functional problem-solving across departments such as clinical, medical, billing/claims, compliance, IS, and training to ensure integration work is durable.

Workflow Standardization
• Builds repeatable documentation and media (videos, animations, etc.) such as workflow guides, decision trees, and “process on paper” tools to reduce variability and improve consistency.
• Supports the development of formal workflow-based training plans and standardized role expectations where workflows need to be prioritized.

Training Plans & Platform Optimization (Relias and Beyond)
• In conjunction with HR and program leadership develops training plans and structured learning pathways based on contractual requirements, compliance expectations, and role-specific workflows and cross-functional needs. 
• Partners with IS, compliance staff, and program leadership to implement training structures in learning platforms (e.g., Relias) that reduce manual work and improve tracking.
• In conjunction with HR and leadership creates or enhance training workflows that support staff onboarding, development, and sustained competency, including annual refreshers and/or role-based enhancements.

Integrated Health Role Support (Medical, Behavioral, and Member Services)
• Supports training and workflow development for staff that drive clinical access and continuity.
• Collaborates with medical leadership, clinical operations teams (foster care, residential, outpatient, housing, educational), and member services to improve practice consistency, reduce operational friction, and support teams through structured resources and training plans.
• Develops or enhances tracking systems that support operational compliance, readiness, and program execution, including training completion tracking and site readiness reporting.
• Collaborates with HR and Leadership in providing guidance and informal training to leaders on tools and systems that improve tracking and workflow automation.

Leadership Development Support 
• Works with Human Resources to support the design of internal development structures that improve leadership skill development beyond management and policy-based training. 
• Works with HR and Leadership to support competency-based, hands-on learning opportunities that strengthen coaching, communication, and retention-focused leadership skills for Supervisors and Team Leads.
Quality, Compliance, and Escalation Workflow Support
• Collaborates and supports the implementation of compliance workflows and remediation plans when staff are expired on required training, unable to meet minimum training requirements, or requiring alternative training support plans.
• Collaborate with compliance and leadership teams to ensure integrated health workflows are aligned with regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing Administration.
  • Minimum Experience Required: 3+ years of experience in behavioral healthcare operations, clinical workflow development, training implementation, and integrated care support. 

-REGULATORY:

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Able to pass a minimum 5 panel drug test & submit to regular screening.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Maintain a clear Central Registry Background Check.
  • CPR, First Aid, (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver's License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements.
