The Position:
We are seeking a full-time Clinical Therapist for our Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Program at our site in Northridge, to provide mental health treatment services to emotionally disturbed children and adolescents in assigned programs.
What You’ll Do
- Provide intensive, community-based mental health services to children and families as part of a multidisciplinary Functional Family Therapy (FFT) team.
- Conduct intakes and comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnosis, and develop and implement individualized, strength-based treatment plans.
- Works intensively with youth and families in their homes and collaborates with school personnel, DMH, DCFS, DPS and any other service agencies.
- Participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and collaborate with internal team members (e.g., case managers, rehab staff, psychiatry) and external partners including schools, DMH, DCFS, and other service providers.
- Deliver individual, family, and group therapy in home, school, office, and other community settings, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and engagement.
- Respond to client crises and symptom management needs, including possible on-call responsibilities outside regular work hours.
- Maintains up-to-date records and data with the FFT CSS system including progress notes and outcome data.
- Provides the majority of mental health services in the home, school, and/or other community-based settings.
- Full-time position (40 hours per week). At least 3 evenings per week until 8pm.
Education Required:
- Ph.D/Psy.D., MSW degree or MFT/MA/MS degree with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy.
- Must be eligible to register with the Board of Psychology or Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Salary: $72,000 - $95,000/year (based on licensure, qualifications, and experience)
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with intensive needs.
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based child and family interventions relevant to families served in the community mental health settings.
- Ability to develop reasonable, appropriate treatment plans and clinical programs to meet the needs of the clients.
- Ph.D., Psy.D., MSW, or MA/MS with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy. Must be eligible to register with the Board of Psychology or Board of Behavioral Sciences.
