Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, Saint Louis Counseling supports healing and improved mental health for families and children of all backgrounds through professional counseling and psychiatric services. Saint Louis Counseling operates eight offices throughout metropolitan St. Louis. In addition, its School Partnership Program (SPP) therapists provide onsite services to students at more than 100 schools as well as children who are homeless living at area shelters. 

Job Summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, St. Louis Counceling, is seeking a Clinical Supervisor. The supervisor will provide clinical leadership, consultation, and oversight across outpatient mental health, school‑based behavioral health, residential treatment, and substance use disorder services for Saint Louis Counseling. The role ensures clinical quality, documentation compliance, risk management, and consistent implementation of evidence‑based and trauma‑informed care across programs. The Clinical Supervisor provides reflective supervision, case consultation, documentation review, and support for complex clinical and crisis situations for licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed therapists, and interns. The position collaborates with program and operational leadership to strengthen compliance, accreditation readiness, interdisciplinary coordination, and effective clinical workflows. The annual compensation starts at $60,000.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and operational support across outpatient mental health, school‑based behavioral health, substance use disorder, CSTAR, and residential treatment programs.
  • Promote high‑quality, trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and recovery‑oriented clinical services across all settings.
  • Deliver individual and group supervision, consultation, and mentorship to licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed staff, and interns in alignment with licensing and ethical standards.
  • Assist staff with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and management of complex behavioral health cases.
  • Monitor documentation quality, timeliness, and compliance with payer, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Conduct chart reviews and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, accreditation readiness, and documentation training.
  • Support clinicians with ASAM criteria application, continuity of care, relapse prevention, and crisis response.
  • Partner with program leadership on workflow, productivity, operational needs, and staff development.
  • Support onboarding, training, professional development, and performance improvement for clinical staff.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, professionalism, ethical practice, and client safety across programs.
  • Assist with mandated reporting, safety concerns, confidentiality, and compliance with behavioral health regulations and Joint Commission standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required.
  • Current Missouri clinical licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) required; approved clinical supervisor status preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience required. Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or field instruction preferred.
  • Prior experience in outpatient behavioral health, school-based services, substance use disorder treatment, and/or residential treatment settings strongly preferred, including work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
