Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, administrative oversight, and program direction in collaboration with WisHope’s management team. This position is responsible for supporting high-quality substance use disorder and mental health services while providing supervision and direction to clinical and administrative staff. The Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting staff development, overseeing clinical operations, promoting regulatory compliance, and ensuring coordinated, client-centered care throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and administrative oversight and program direction in collaboration with the management team.
- Provide clinical direction, leadership, and supervision to clinical and administrative staff to ensure quality services are provided to clients, families, and referral sources.
- Provide outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services with the goal of supporting client recovery.
- Conduct and/or oversee intake assessments and monitor individual, group, and family therapy services.
- Develop individualized service and treatment plans and conduct ongoing reviews throughout the duration of treatment.
- Provide and oversee substance use disorder and mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, intervention services, and other clinically appropriate services.
- Monitor clinical quality and assist staff in maintaining appropriate standards of care.
- Provide supervision, consultation, coaching, and professional development to clinical team members.
- Support staff in clinical decision-making, treatment planning, documentation, ethical practice, and professional boundaries.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
- Provide treatment planning, coordination, and collaboration with outside providers.
- Ensure appropriate discharge planning and coordinate with medical and psychiatric providers when clinically indicated.

- Monitor applicable DHS licensing requirements and assist in developing and maintaining required documentation.

- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in accordance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Support clear communication between clinical services, billing, insurance, referral sources, and other organizational departments.
- Assist in resolving clinical, operational, or documentation concerns that may impact client care or program compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Promote consistency in clinical practices across programs and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with identifying opportunities to strengthen clinical programming and service delivery.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and model ethical clinical practice for staff.
- Participate in supervision, continuing education, leadership development, and professional development activities.
- Participate in annual cultural competency, diversity, safety, and other required organizational trainings.
- Represent WisHope as a member of the management team at trainings, meetings, professional gatherings, and community events. Clinical Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing ongoing supervision and direction to assigned clinical and administrative staff. Supervisory responsibilities may include:
- Providing regularly scheduled individual and/or group supervision.
- Reviewing clinical documentation and providing feedback to staff.
- Supporting staff with complex clinical situations and treatment decisions.
- Monitoring staff performance and adherence to organizational and regulatory expectations.
- Providing coaching, education, and corrective guidance when appropriate.
- Supporting the onboarding, orientation, and development of new clinical team members.
- Identifying training needs and opportunities for continued professional growth.
- Promoting effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability within the clinical department.
- Collaborating with organizational leadership regarding staffing, workflow, clinical operations, and program needs.

Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a similar behavioral health field.
- At least five years of experience in the substance use disorder and/or mental health field.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or program management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and support multidisciplinary staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively with organizational leadership, outside providers, referral sources, clients, families, and community partners.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic documentation systems.
- Successful completion of required background checks and organizational training.
These qualifications build directly from WisHope's current Clinical Supervisor requirements, which include at least five years of behavioral health experience, a relevant Master's degree, computer proficiency, strong communication skills, and completion of required background checks and training. Candidates must hold a current CSAC, LCSW, LPC, ICS and/or LMFT.
