  • Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c). 
  • Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct.  
  • Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion.  
  • Demonstrates the standards of performance and behaviors consistent with the DRIVE to Patient-Centered Excellence. 
  • Ensure that department policies, decisions and actions demonstrate regards for the rights, dignity, respect, and confidentiality of all patients family members, visitors, and employees. 
  • Meet at regular intervals to supervise clinicians individually. 
  • Participates in the formulation of standards, policies and procedures for staff. 
  • Participates in case conference and treatment team meeting. 
  • Organize and participate in-services for staff development. 
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement committee. 
  • Oversee medical care of new admission.  
  • Oversee clinical care and charting to include case conference, psychosocial evaluation, treatment plans, and discharge plan.    
  • Assure compliance with all regulatory agencies such as JCAHO OASAS, and DEA.  
  • Monitors patient charts for accuracy and completeness.  
  • Establishes and maintains relationship with aftercare programs.  
  • Evaluate clinician’s job performance and training needs.  
  • Assign cases and intakes.    
  • Complete mental health assessments and referrals.  
  • Supervise evaluations, treatment planning, treatment process, follow up/outreach.  
  • Networks within Addiction Medicine and other Departments to ensure appropriate referrals.  
  • Understands the Diversion Prevention Plan for the Methadone Substance Abuse Treatment Program and Medically Managed Detoxification Unit.  
Qualifications

Education Required: Master’s degree in social work or Mental Health Counseling. 

  1. License/Certification/Registration(s) Required: LCSW; LMSW, LMHC
  2. Experience/Skills Required:
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
