Program/Clinic: Early Psychosis
Primary Populations Served: Adult, Adolescent
The University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry is looking for innovative clinicians to join the Outpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Clinic. The clinic is a large, multi-disciplinary clinic, primarily located at the Pritzker Building of UCSF, and it is the primary outpatient training site for UCSF psychiatry residents. Additional sites include Integrated Behavioral Health practices embedded in Primary Care and Specialty clinics. Medical students also participate in some of the clinic’s components as part of their core clinical training in psychiatry. Trainees, faculty, and staff providers evaluate new patients across a number of different specialty clinics and faculty practices that focus on various patient populations, including diagnosis-based (e.g. depression, anxiety, bipolar) and population-based (e.g. women, geriatrics, and LGBT) clinics. After the initial evaluation, clinicians develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans that may include medication management and/or psychotherapy. This position involves providing primarily time-limited individual psychotherapy to a panel of diverse patients as well as running treatment groups. The clinician in this position builds and maintains their psychotherapy panel by working with administrative staff on incoming referrals. The work environment involves collaborative interaction with other practitioners within Psychiatry. Ways to improve communication and service to patients are part of each person’s job in the Department. Participation in the Continuous Quality Improvement process and strict adherence to privacy policies and all clinic procedures are expected.
UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
