Position Overview
GenerateHope is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Therapist for a 6-month, part-time contract position within our San Diego Restorative Care Program, serving survivors of sex trafficking. This role is central to the healing and restoration of the women in our residential program, and serves as the clinical voice on our program team.
Key Responsibilities:
Individual & Group Therapy
- Provide weekly individual therapy sessions to residents using trauma-informed, evidence-based modalities
- Lead and facilitate therapeutic group sessions including process groups, psychoeducation, and specialty groups aligned with the needs of survivors
- Utilize EMDR and other trauma-focused approaches in individual treatment
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as the clinical lead on the program team, providing guidance, consultation, and reflective supervision to staff on trauma-informed care, resident behaviors, and program dynamics
- Participate in weekly care coordination meetings and all-staff team meetings as needed
- Provide clinical perspective to inform program decision-making and resident care planning
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete thorough and timely clinical documentation including progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Ensure documentation meets grant and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate records in the organization's data management system
Curriculum & Program Development
- Develop and adapt clinical curriculum for group programming including evidence-based content relevant to trauma recovery, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, identity, and self-worth
- Collaborate with the program team to align clinical programming with residents' phases of care and individualized goals
Assessments
- Administer and interpret standardized clinical assessments at intake, quarterly, and discharge including trauma and mental health screening tools
- Use assessment data to inform individualized treatment planning and program evaluation
Requirements
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) strongly preferred; candidates with an ASW or equivalent associate licensure actively working toward full licensure will also be considered
- Master's degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related counseling field (ASW, AMFT, LPC candidate, or equivalent)
- Experience working with trauma survivors — experience with survivors of trafficking or exploitation strongly preferred
- EMDR training and experience desired
- Strong written communication skills and experience with clinical documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, mission-driven residential program environment
Benefits & Perks
