Position Title: Clinical Intern
Organization: P&G Behavioral Health Services
Reports To: Assigned Clinical Supervisor
Position Summary
The Clinical Intern supports the delivery of person-centered, recovery-oriented behavioral health services to adults under the supervision of qualified clinical staff. This position provides practical learning opportunities in assessment, treatment planning, service coordination, and clinical documentation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with clinical assessments, treatment plans, and other documentation as permitted by the internship agreement and supervisor.
- Participate in supervised individual and group services within the intern’s training and authorized scope.
- Support referrals, resource coordination, and consumer engagement.
- Attend supervision, case consultations, team meetings, and required training.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and protect consumer confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Promptly report safety concerns, clinical changes, and ethical issues to the assigned supervisor.
- Demonstrate professional boundaries, cultural responsiveness, and respect for consumer rights.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral health program.
- Eligibility for a field placement or clinical internship through the academic institution.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Completion of required onboarding, background screening, and applicable training.
Supervision and Scope
All clinical activities must be approved and supervised by qualified staff and aligned with academic requirements, agency policies, and applicable regulations. Interns do not provide independent clinical services.
