Position Summary
VABODE Behavioral Health / SMARTS Recovery is seeking a qualified Clinical Director to oversee behavioral health and substance use services. This position is responsible for supervising Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) and one Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring compliance with Virginia DBHDS and DMAS regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to QMHPs and one SUD Counselor.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments.
- Review treatment plans, clinical documentation, and client progress.
- Ensure clinical services meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Facilitate treatment team meetings and provide staff guidance.
- Support clinical audits, quality assurance, and program development.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.

Current, unrestricted Virginia mental health license (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent) preferred.
- License-eligible candidates will be considered.
- Experience in clinical assessments, supervision, and behavioral health services.
- Knowledge of Virginia DBHDS and DMAS requirements preferred.
- Strong clinical leadership and organizational skills.
