In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, Better Morning started off as a certified provider for intensive in home and community-based services (IHCBS), for at risk youth in District of Columbia.

In August of 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core service agency (CSA) by DC Department of Behavioral Health. Better morning founder’s passion for at risk youth and their family were the motivation to keep expanding the evidenced based programs to meet the need of the underserved population.

Job Description

Clinical Care Coordinator -Extended Transitional Youth Housing Program

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Care Coordinator to join our Extended Transitional Youth Housing Program. This position plays a vital role in supporting youth ages 18–24 with behavioral health needs as they move toward stability, self-sufficiency, and long-term wellness. A Clinical Coordinator must be a master’s Level Licensed Social Worker, Counselor, or Psychologist with at least 5 years of experience including 3 years in a supervisory role in a clinical or behavioral health setting. The Clinical Coordinator will provide clinical supervision and oversight to the service provided to youth as well as direct behavioral health services to ETH clients. Regarding clinical supervision, this person is responsible for conducting at least bi-weekly direct supervision with case management staff to ensure appropriate treatment planning, intervention, and client progress. Regarding clinical services, this person is responsible for facilitating therapeutic groups as well as psychoeducational groups and individualized therapeutic to ETH clients. The Clinical Coordinator will also collaborate with Core Service or other Behavioral Health providers to ensure ETH clients are receiving mental health and substance abuse services timely and as appropriate including assessments and reassessments, and medication management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized service plans in collaboration with residents.
  • Provide clinical oversight and care coordination for youth with complex behavioral, emotional, and social needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between youth, mental health providers, case managers, housing staff, and other community partners.
  • Monitor progress toward treatment goals and revise care plans as needed to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Facilitate access to mental health services, medical care, substance use treatment, educational/vocational programs, and life skills supports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory and program standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and trainings to promote best practices and integrated care.
  • Support youth in developing coping skills, healthy routines, and pathways to independence.

 

    Qualifications

     

    • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Must have DC license LGSE/LGPC
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working with transitional-age youth or young adults with behavioral health needs.
    • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, case management, and systems navigation.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Familiarity with housing programs, Medicaid documentation, and youth development approaches is a plus.
