Ready to make a real difference?The Clinical Authorization Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to billing, clinical quality review, and provider support. This role plays an instrumental part in ensuring successful claim submission of behavioral health services, monitoring rendered services, and tracking renewal dates. The Clinical Authorization Coordinator will support various treatment teams across the organization.

Remarkable ways you will be making a difference:
- Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
- Establishes and maintains effective lines of communication with representatives with pay sources, including Medicaid, Managed Medicaid and Medicare, as well as private insurers.
- Tracks behavioral health patient admissions and discharges.
- Monitors initial documentation and annual renewal dates
- Collaborates with Accounting regarding accurate client billing
- Responsible for submitting and tracking approval of clinical prior authorizations.
- Provide administrative support for clinical teams, as needed.
What you need to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in social work, psychology, counseling or applicable discipline
- Experience in social service field preferred
- Experience preferred working with clinical documentation requirements, prior authorization processes, including DCS, Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance companies
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification
- Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification
- Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
- Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
Essential Job Functions
The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
