Second Chances Comprehensive Services (SCCS)

Position Overview

Second Chances Comprehensive Services is seeking dedicated and detail‑oriented Licensed and License‑Eligible Clinical Assessors to complete comprehensive clinical evaluations for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This is a contract position requiring strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and familiarity with Virginia regulatory standards.

Assessors will complete face‑to‑face Comprehensive Needs Assessments and associated intake documentation in alignment with DMAS, DBHDS, CARF, and SCCS guidelines.

Candidates must be fully licensed or license‑eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Position pays $250.00 per assessment.




Key Responsibilities


Conduct face‑to‑face Comprehensive Needs Assessments in accordance with DMAS, DBHDS, CARF, and SCCS regulations.
Complete all required intake documentation, including:

Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
Initial Service Authorizations
Client Orientation Packets
Required legal documents


Perform clinical intakes and initial screenings to determine appropriate levels of care.
Formulate diagnostic impressions and develop preliminary treatment plans.
Coordinate care with internal treatment teams and external providers as needed.
Participate in required clinical trainings (compensated).
Maintain thorough and compliant documentation following medical record and regulatory standards.


Reimbursement is $250.00 per assessment

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

Education


Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.


Licensure


Licensed: Active Virginia licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMHP, or Licensed Psychologist).
License‑Eligible: Registered with the appropriate VA licensing board to accrue supervised hours (e.g., Resident in Counseling, Supervisee in Social Work).


Experience


1–2 years of relevant clinical experience, including assessments, intakes, diagnostic formulation, and/or crisis intervention.


Skills


Strong clinical writing skills and attention to detail.
Ability to complete comprehensive assessments in a timely and compliant manner.
Understanding of Virginia behavioral health regulations and documentation standards.
