The Client Navigator or “Navigator” serves as a key resource for clients seeking assistance with obtaining, maintaining, and understanding health insurance coverage. This will be an essential role for the Resiliency Center and Josselyn as an agency. This position works directly with individuals and families to facilitate applying for Medicaid applications, marketplace enrollment, insurance renewals, eligibility verification, and resolution of coverage barriers. The Client Insurance Navigator collaborates closely with clinical, intake, billing, and care coordination teams to ensure clients have access to affordable healthcare services and experience minimal interruptions in coverage.
Schedule
Monday to Friday 9 AM - 5 PM onsite in Northfield, IL
Compensation
$21.98 - $27.47 hourly determined by the hiring manager based on experience
Essential Responsibilities and Metrics
• Assist clients in completing Medicaid applications and redeterminations.
• Support clients with enrollment in Marketplace (ACA), Medicare, and other insurance programs as appropriate.
• Educate clients on available insurance options and eligibility requirements.
• Advocate for clients experiencing barriers to coverage or access to care.
• Connect uninsured or underinsured clients to appropriate coverage resources and financial assistance programs.
• Maintain organized records of applications, renewals, verifications, and supporting documentation.
• Stay informed regarding changes to Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace plans, and other healthcare coverage program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field required
Minimum one year of experience in healthcare enrollment, benefits assistance, social services, case management, or customer service preferred.
Experience assisting with Medicaid, Medicare, ACA Marketplace, or public benefits programs strongly preferred
Bilingual skills preferred.
