Overview

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Cherokee Speaker Home Health Supervisor supports Cherokee speaking families by overseeing home based language and wellness services. The role conducts safety and environmental assessments, develops individualized service and language plans, and connects families with appropriate health or social service resources. It collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address health related concerns, guides home health staff on safe engagement practices, maintains required documentation, and contributes to program quality improvement. This position ensures families receive safe, culturally grounded support that strengthens daily Cherokee language use.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Work, health sciences, family and consumer sciences, human services, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or
move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
• Must possess a unique understanding of the mission of the Language Department in not only perpetuating the Cherokee language but also the culture and traditions of the Cherokee people.
• Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
