POSITION SUMMARY

Premier Comprehensive Services, LLC (PCS) is seeking an experienced and qualified Certified Addiction Counselor II to provide substance-use counseling, manage an assigned caseload, and assist with the coordination and oversight of a designated recovery residence.

The CAC-II will provide addiction counseling within the independent scope authorized by the applicable credential, manage individual recovery goals, monitor treatment progress, and coordinate recovery-focused services.

This position also carries responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a designated recovery residence, promoting structure, accountability, resident engagement, and adherence to established house expectations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment within the addiction-counseling scope, leadership, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with PCS leadership and the behavioral health treatment team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Substance-Use Counseling & Caseload Management

  • Maintain and manage an assigned caseload of individuals receiving substance-use services.

  • Provide individual and group addiction counseling within the authorized credential and scope of practice.

  • Conduct applicable screening, intake, assessment, treatment planning, and counseling activities within credentialing limitations.

  • Develop and support individualized recovery goals and relapse-prevention strategies.

  • Monitor individual progress, engagement, and response to treatment interventions.

  • Identify barriers to recovery and coordinate appropriate referrals and resources.

  • Provide education regarding substance-use disorders, recovery, coping strategies, and healthy decision-making.

  • Maintain consistent follow-up and continuity of care.

  • Communicate significant clinical or safety concerns to PCS leadership and the appropriate treatment team.

2. Recovery Home Management & Oversight

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the designated recovery residence.

  • Establish and maintain an organized, structured, and recovery-focused living environment.

  • Monitor resident compliance with house rules, schedules, and established expectations.

  • Coordinate resident meetings, check-ins, recovery activities, and accountability measures.

  • Address routine resident concerns and facilitate appropriate resolution.

  • Monitor the overall functioning of the residence and communicate operational needs to PCS leadership.

  • Promote personal responsibility, peer accountability, and continued recovery engagement.

  • Coordinate community recovery resources, referrals, and support services.

  • Maintain appropriate resident records, incident reports, and operational documentation.

  • Immediately escalate significant behavioral, medical, substance-use, or safety concerns.

3. Treatment Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director, clinicians, nurses, assessors, and other authorized treatment team members.

  • Coordinate care and referrals to appropriate medical, behavioral health, and community resources.

  • Participate in case consultations and treatment team meetings.

  • Communicate relevant observations and progress regarding assigned individuals.

  • Support continuity of care and coordination between counseling services and recovery residence operations.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Notenetic.

  • Complete progress notes, treatment records, assessments, and other required documentation within the authorized scope.

  • Document individual participation, interventions, treatment progress, and outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate caseload and recovery residence records.

  • Follow applicable PCS, DBHDD, Medicaid, payer, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in quality assurance, compliance reviews, training, and organizational meetings.

5. Professional Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and accountability.

  • Maintain appropriate ethical standards and professional boundaries.

  • Exercise independent judgment within the authorized addiction-counseling scope.

  • Follow PCS policies, procedures, and organizational directives.

  • Maintain required credentials and continuing education.

  • Promote a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and supportive environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing an assigned caseload and completing clinical documentation.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to coordinate day-to-day recovery residence operations.

  • Successful completion of applicable background screening and PCS credentialing requirements.

SUPERVISION & SCOPE OF PRACTICE

A CADC-II credential issued by ADACBGA provides an independent scope specific to addiction counseling. This does not authorize general mental-health diagnosis or services outside the addiction-counseling scope.

The counselor remains accountable to PCS organizational policies, quality assurance requirements, and appropriate administrative oversight.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Performance will be evaluated based on:

  • Effective caseload management.

  • Quality of addiction counseling and recovery interventions.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of documentation.

  • Individual engagement and progress toward recovery goals.

  • Effective coordination and oversight of the recovery residence.

  • Resident accountability and adherence to established house expectations.

The CAC-II is expected to demonstrate the clinical competence, organizational ability, and leadership necessary to manage an assigned caseload while ensuring that the designated residence maintains a structured, safe, and recovery-focused environment.
