Job Details

ChristianaCare's Kidney Transplant Program is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to serve as a Senior Donor Advocate in a per diem role averaging approximately 4 hours per week.

In this unique position, you will serve as an independent advocate for living kidney donors, ensuring their rights, interests, and well-being are protected throughout the donation process. You will provide education, guidance, and support while helping donors make informed decisions free from coercion or undue influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for living donors and prospective donors throughout evaluation and donation.

  • Ensure donor decisions are informed, voluntary, and confidential.

  • Educate donors on medical, psychosocial, and financial aspects of living donation.

  • Serve independently from the transplant recipient's care team.

  • Collaborate with transplant physicians, coordinators, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members.

  • Provide recommendations regarding donor suitability in accordance with program requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare experience.

  • Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.

  • Nursing, Social Work, or related healthcare background.

  • Knowledge of living organ donation, transplantation, medical ethics, and informed consent.

Annual Compensation Range $60,777.60 - $91,166.40

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
