Job Summary:

Provide financial, housing, and supportive services to Transitional Aged Youth (18-24) who are at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. Administer monthly financial assistance accompanied by prevention, diversion, and housing solution strategies to support youth in locating and securing permanent housing while also advancing their progress in education and employment goals.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:


Provide individual, face to face case management to 20-25 Transition Age Youth who are enrolled in the Direct Cash Program
Case Management may include:
Assist participants to reach their academic goals
Provide training in daily living skills, budgeting, locating and maintaining housing and career plannin
Collaborate with participants to incorporate their goals into the Case Management plan and assist youth in achieving all goals
Provide opportunities, connections and resources for affordable, safe housing and transitional housing programs at BWC or within the community
Provide opportunities for support and participants who are parenting
Distribute financial incentives for participants
Provide resources and referrals to relevant, culturally appropriate services in the community where the youth resides or plans to reside
Coordinate with community providers to refer participants to programs and services needed
Provide continuous outreach to engage youth not actively participating in services.
Attend required agency and stakeholder meetings.
Maintain client files, statistical data and reports per protocol and deadlines.
Coordinate college/career exploration tours.
Participate in agency Program Quality Improvement activities and initiatives
Participate in agency Safety initiatives and proactively report safety issues to management immediately
Regular attendance is required.
Other duties may be assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:


Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of comparable work experience. Experience working with families, young adults and children.  Including those that have intersected with the foster care or probation systems and/or those that have experienced homelessness, or personal experience in the above. Experience working with culturally diverse clients required.


Required Skills/Abilities:


Driving is a requirement of the job. Must have possession of current driver’s license, access to a vehicle and personal automobile insurance.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (or complete within 30 days of hire). 
Fingerprinting/background check as required by the Department of Justice and/or Title XXII regulations. TB test required. 
Must be punctual, efficient and organized; effective and professional under pressure. Ability to balance excellent client care with meeting deadlines and ensuring positive program goals and outcomes. Excellent communication skills - must be personable and informative when presenting Bill Wilson Center programs and services. 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Must be able to communicate effectively. Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as required for reporting.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; spreadsheet software and word processing software and Internet research skills..

Salary Range:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
