Case Manager


The Blinn College District is searching for a Case Manager at our Bryan Campus. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary 

Responsible for assisting and supporting students who are the parent or guardian of a child under 18 years of age in managing academic responsibility while connecting them with support services, relevant resources, providing guidance, and fostering them with a supportive community

Principal Accountabilities

  • Conduct intake assessments to understand the specific needs and challenges of students who are the parent or guardian of a child younger than 18 years of age.
  • Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with target population to address their academic and parenting needs.
  • Connect target population with appropriate on-campus resources. Provide training and guidance on accessing and utilizing available resources.
  • Ensure target population has access to necessary accommodations such as early registration for courses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with faculty and staff to promote a supportive academic environment for target population.
  • Develop, implement, and organize workshops on time management, resource management, and additional topics related to target population.
  • Serve as a primary contact to assist target population with encouragement of peer-to-peer support and collaboration within target population.
  • Generate reports and summaries for supervisors and relevant departments.
  • Provides supportive assistance to additional Student Services departments as directed by the Director of Counseling and Disability Services.
  • Review psychological testing data for students who identify themselves as requiring disability services while maintaining confidentiality as required by law and assist with providing services.
  • Assistance in receiving/maintaining exams for testing and proctoring exams
  • This is a district-wide position, so monthly visits to all the main campuses are expected to support parenting and pregnant students.
  • Responsible for serving as the CPS and foster care support liaison. It requires providing resources and support to students with foster care experience, as well as completing state-required reporting and data collection.
  • Perform other duties related tasks as assigned



Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related eld (Social Work, Education, Counseling) required.
  • Two years of experience in a related eld required.

Minimum Competencies

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner across organizations on and off-campus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Oce programs, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of relevant community resources and services.
  • Ability to maintain condentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to serve students in an adequate time frame. Ability to plan ahead, managing time well-being on time and thinking of better ways for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Ability to understand challenges faced by target population and ability to provide empathetic and non-judgmental support.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Master’s degree in a related eld (Social Work, Education, Counseling) preferred.
  • At least ve years of experience working in social work or other social services environment preferred.
  • Ability to speak and write English and Spanish uently preferred.

Preferred Competencies

  • Knowledge of DSM codes
  • Experience in initiating referrals of students in crises to appropriate external agencies.

This is a 12 month, on-campus, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:


96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
16 hours personal
8 hours sick each month.
Paid leave for college designated holiday’s, spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
